GIO Chapter Suriname was officially established in 2025 as the Surinamese chapter of the Global Indian Organisation, headquartered in London.
We represent the more than 150,000 Surinamese of Hindustani descent — a community deeply rooted in both Suriname and the culture of India. In 2026, Suriname celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations with India, a milestone that gives our role as a strategic partner special significance.
