About Us

A living bridge between two nations

GIO Chapter Suriname was officially established in 2025 as the Surinamese chapter of the Global Indian Organisation, headquartered in London.

We represent the more than 150,000 Surinamese of Hindustani descent β€” a community deeply rooted in both Suriname and the culture of India. In 2026, Suriname celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations with India, a milestone that gives our role as a strategic partner special significance.
